About Jaw Cyst Tumor Surgery
Jaw cysts and benign tumours often grow slowly and without pain, and are frequently found on a routine dental X-ray. Others show up as swelling, loose or displaced teeth, or an infection that keeps coming back.
A biopsy confirms what the lesion is. Treatment ranges from removing a cyst and its lining to removing a section of the jaw for more aggressive tumours, with reconstruction when needed. Follow-up X-rays check for recurrence, as some types can return.
